Colgate Class of 2020 RD Decision Thread

Rejected. International student. Received 4 decisions so far, 2 waitlists and two rejections. It’s probably because of the huge financial aid I need to attend! :stuck_out_tongue:

Got rejected. US citizen (though I could give proof of citizenship on late Feb only - not earlier - so idk if it was on time). Applied from overseas, major aid requirement. Not that fussed since I got in Macalester already.

Rejected international
Act 34 uwgpa 3.96

Probably because i applied for a lot of aid

They’re sending waitlists and rejections through email at this time. Waitlists started from 1.5 hours ago and rejections started from 40 minutes ago. They said they’ll finish sending decisions by 5:00pm eastern time. So if you don’t get anything by then, you’re most likely admitted.

@chingchingli Does this only apply to international students or US students as well?

The email things don’t apply to US citizens. I suppose they’ll mail all the decisions for US citizens by 5:00 pm EDT, but don’t expect to receive the package today.

By US citizens do you mean applicants with US mailing address only or US citizens abroad too?

Sorry that I misused the word “citizen”. I meant applicants with US mailing address. US citizens abroad should also receive an email if waitlisted or rejected.

Wouldn’t it make sense to email rejected US applicants too? I thought you only get something through snail mail if you’re accepted

I got waitlisted, what do I do now?

I’m from India. Got the rejection email. All the best everyone else

They send rejections to US applicants through U.S. postal mail and offers through a courier delivery service.

for those of you who got rejected, what were your scores/gpa?

2050 sat 1 sat 2 2330 and O levels 8 A*s and A levels 4 subjects…rejected huge aid needed inetrnational

I was accepted ED in December. The decisions were mailed on a Friday and I received my acceptance by regular U.S. Mail the following Monday in NY. If you read through the ED decision thread you will see that others got their acceptances by FedEx. Also, some did not get acceptances or rejections for days after I received mine.

I was rejected, haha.
Welp, it’s insane that only 760 out of 8,300 applicants were admitted - that’s barely 10% acceptance rate.

Oh well, beggars can’t be choosers.

i thought colgate had a 26% acceptance rate. Is this international?

That’s what I thought, too. I was really surprised, to say the least.

They certainly admitted more than 760 applicants… 760 Admittees would equal a 100% yield rate!
