my friend is doing a paper on the injustice behind college admissions. like:

how one school purposefully admits richer kids
how one school purposefully admits richer kids, even if they aren't qualified
how qualified non-minorities get rejected instead of underqualified minorities
etc. etc. etc.

what are some other injustice practices within college admissions?

Before your friend turns in any paper, he should be sure that if he is accusing a specific college that he has actual facts to support those claims. Facts may consist of data on admissions that expressly shows that kind of activity, facts do not consist of personal beliefs, what others, like other friends, claim is true, or generalizations found in articles. Also, he better be able to accurately define what is meant by “qualified” v. “unqualified” applicants and what he means by injustice.

Another area where people have often expressed the belief of discrimination is colleges not admitting Asian applicants with high GPAs and test scores to avoid having too many asian students. But again finding actual facts to support that claim as to any college is not an easy chore.

^^ drusba’s advice is sound. Your friend’s parroting these themes seems rather contrived. Why don’t you ask him why he even thinks meritocracy should be the sole determinant in college admissions? He needs to consider that his starting point is considered faulty by many.
