College Admission Number Crunching

Every time I see a post where parents are trying to determine the strength of a high school based on college outcomes I cringe. The reality is your analysis is flawed, unless you have more context. For example, comparing Ivy league placements probably tells you more about how many legacies are in each graduating class than the quality of the education acquired (for example, while the overall acceptance rate to Harvard is in the single digits, legacy admission is around 30%).

Do you have a question? Your comment has been done to death here, even recently. Just do a little research.
