Should I major in film at USC or major in economics at a cheaper Florida public university?
That’s a huge question! Note that it’s not easy to get into USC, or get into almost any film school. What’s viable for you economically?
@TS0104 I already got into USC and it’s film school but I stopped going because I couldn’t afford it. Now I’m back home in Florida
Well, it sounds like you can’t go back to USC, then. Do you have options to pursue film at a Florida public?
@intparent nah studying film is a joke, even if you go to a top film school like USC, you’ll just end up being a production assistant making minimum wage or an office assistant making $15/hr max
I’m confused about why you asked this. If you are really committed to film, go out and start hustling for experience, shooting your own stuff, etc. If you are “meh” about pursuing it, pick something else to study.
Haven’t you in effect answered your own question? You’ve left USC over affordability issues, and–in any case–you’ve decided that film school is a waste of time and money. I don’t know what other options you have on the table, but USC seems like a moot point.
