Boston University requests a list of other colleges that we are applying to in addition to their university. Although they say that it won’t affect their admissions decisions, I am worried about sending this list. It is a part of their required supplemental form. What are your thoughts?

tell the truth. if boston university decides to use that information in the wrong way, then you can't help it. in my opinion, you shouldn't lie because there might be the possibility that they can find that out.

p.s. boston university is my first choice school. however, i applied to a more prestigious/selective university. yet, i don't think that they'll look at that and say, "boston university must not be his first choice," because i have expressed interest in them since my junior year of high school.

Last year, Boston University was my first choice because of it's communications program, but I also wrote down that I applied to Cornell, BC, etc. It didn't hurt me!

i put Bergen Community College

hehe i put cunys..sunys and barnard..but i am applying too all these schools..but yeah i left a lot out too

I put the 8 worst colleges I'm applyng to. Except those eight were still really good (i.e. Cornell, Brown, etc.), but just not Harvard, Yale, and MIT.

It probably wouldn't make a difference right? You're allowed to have BU as a safety.

Lol. I only put the 3 best colleges I'm applying to, so it looks like I won't have a chance to get into any of the colleges I applied to. Just incase they actually look, that is. ;)

You never know, they could use it to determine how much scholarship money they need to give you to get you to go to BU... :)

I put nothing in that part of the app. when I filled it out last year They probably just use it to find out who and what their competition is.
