So when I made my college board account I put my common name, because I didn’t know about my legal name. My common name is I’m putting in initials only T (middle name) P (last) E. However my legal name is (first name T P (middle name) V (Last name) E. I want to change my name, so I contected college board, but it was so confusing. I still can’t rap my head around it and I would like some help. What number or program should I call to get my name changed. If it’s not either of those can someone explain how I can call college board to get a name change.
I had to go through this same frustration because they added an extra letter into my name. I called customer service at 866-630-9305. You can also find this number by logging on to your college board account, going to my account, and hover over the little “i” icon across from name. Sometimes they have people who are really hard to understand or it’s really noisy, so you just have to call a few times to finally get through. Clearly state that you are trying to contact customer service and you want to correct your name. You may get redirected a few times, which is frustrating, but eventually you’ll find the person you need to talk to
Thank you! now I just have to find my registration number to give to them. The registration number is the number that was on your last admission ticket, but I THINK I threw that away. I tried to look for it in where I normally put my important papers but i couldn’t find them. Now I’d like to know if there are any other ways I can find that number.
Hopefully, this is not too late. If it’s the registration number for an upcoming SAT I think it should be in your college board My SAT account. Otherwise, I would check your computer and download history to see if it’s still there from whenever you first printed your admission ticket
After I couldn’t find the registration number I called again and they didn’t ask for the number. Instead they asked for information like my security question, original name on the account, and birthday so I was finally able to change my name. Thanks for your help!
