College choices for pre-med with great GPA but not so great SAT

My D is determined to go on med track. Below are the stats - current and expected. Looking for suggestions on colleges in our area (~3 hours of drive from NJ) for good pre-med learning experience. She is academic focused; so not looking for a super party school.

Cost is not a major concern; but certainly prefer to save for med school

NJ highly competitive large HS junior.
Expected W GPA when ready to apply: 4.5 out of 5. School does not rank. But, should be in the top 10%.
SAT subjects - all 800 so far. Expecting to maintain that.
AP - all 5 so far. Expecting to maintain that.
Expected SAT score - 1450 to 1500. This is conservative based on today’s tests. Have a few more months to practice.
Decent EC inside and outside school - wouldn’t call it top of the line EC. No sports.

What we have thought about so far:
TCNJ

Thanks in advance!

What is unweighted GPA (closer to 4.0)? The SAT score has to be much higher ( preferably greater than 1550 ) for NJMS bsmd (TCNJ is a feeder school).
Rutgers- New Brunswick UG premd at SAS is a very good option compared to TCNJ’s UG premed.

Try reposting in the FA or parent’s forums to get more suggestions.

The college your D attends really has very little bearing on whether your D will be able to succeed in gaining a med school acceptance down the line. Her college GPA, sGPA, MCAT score, ECs and LORs have far more weight than where she attends.

Your state universities (TCNJ and Rutgers) are both fine choices for pre-med.

Since so many pre-meds change their minds about med school during undergrad, I would take pre-med out of the equation. Find a school that offers your D the best combination of fit (happier students do better academically), costs and opportunity (which includes the option to explore other majors and other career paths).

@grtd2010 - UW GPA is 3.9. Thanks for the response! Advantage that I can think of with Rutgers is better research opportunities. But D feels it is too big.

Why not try for NJMS bsmd via feeder schools like TCNJ, NJIT etc ?

Research experience does matter in regular medical school admission process.

If cost is an issue perhaps also look at SUNY Binghamton which is an excellent university with good OOS rates.

What about Rowan?
