College Confidential Relaunch

@Meant2B -

From a computer:

Click on your user name at the top of the screen.

This takes you to your activity page. On the top left a little ways down you will see “Inbox”. Click on inbox.

This takes you to a list of all your PM conversations. Click on the one you want to delete.

This takes you to the messages in the conversation. At the top left you will now see a “Delete Message Thread” button.

Click the button and follow the prompts, and it’s gone!

Never tried it on a phone.

Probably mentioned already, but i hate that the “forum champion” title stuff rolls into the text section.

Fascinating, @notrichenough . Never looked at that on the computer. Didn’t think cc allowed anything to be removed.

@jym626, CC just changed this recently.

Me too. :slight_smile:

@MaineLonghorn - what did cc just change? The option to delete PM’s or delete other things as well? Did they announce the change? If so, where?

@jym26, just PMs. I don’t think it was announced anyplace.

So how are posters supposed to know (other than the helpful post from @notrichenough . Changes should be announced somewhere, so posters know what features are/are not available. JMO.

It was announced. @jym626

Thanks- think I saw the “option to leave a PM” post but not the ”how to delete one”. Not really seeing the need to delete a pm, but no matter. Its fine if someone else does.

I find it useful, since in my function I receive/send a ton of PMs. Ideally, I’d like to be able to sort them into folders, or at least search, but since that’s not gonna happen anytime soon, I delete.

Please how do I send a cc user a pm

I don’t regularly go to the community forum to see if user/system updates or changes are posted.

Might be good to use the page banners like the blue one above, to clue us to look. Otherwise?

@Tspice, see this thread: http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/community-forum-issues/2064380-updates-to-the-membership-levels.html#latest

But I’ve sent more than 15 posts and the system hasn’t made me a cc Junior member

You keep posting non-substantive replies. They can’t be spammy.

Once you’ve fulfilled the substantive reply requirement, you need to log out and log back in.

I wonder the notification mechanism can be changed. Instead of notifying all new posts, the site only sends notifications on the threads that have new posts. Currently we have several notifications with repeated threads and they are not in any order. It’s hard to parse out the threads and to know which oldest post of the thread to be read first. Also it would be nice to have an option to clear notification for each thread instead of clearing notifications for all threads.

Probably it’s not too difficult for programmers to make this change: Only send notification on the first new post instead of sending notifications on all new posts.

I still don’t see the need to delete the old pm’s. At not like they take up some limited bandwidth or get in the way. Then again I am one who doesn’t always delete old emails either. And sometimes being able to pull up old info is helpful.

Ok I don’t know if this is a relaunch issue, but I just replied to a post. It was long enough to split into two paragraphs but when I went to post, it only posted the first paragraph.

As of an hour ago the top of each page has more gray space than before. Desktop Edge.
