<p>Can somebody explain why so few posters on CC -- including posters on the boards of some of America's fanciest colleges -- know how to spell "definitely." It's really not that difficult.</p>

<p>Similarly, is the notion that "alot" is not a word really as alien to America's youth as would appear from reading their posts?</p>
