College ECs and MBA

How important are ECs in college to MBA admissions, and how important is it for the ECs to be business-related? For example, would newspaper/yearbook help as much as VITA, student run investment funds, and student run consulting?

For a leader in a yearbook staff, I believe the managing work is actually more stressful than a leader in the other mentioned clubs.

(I understand GPA and work experience are more important, but do ECs help at all, and in what way?)

Management and leadership experience are the most important part of EC’s. Many students are on the boards of non-profits, for example.

Find one that you are interested in and volunteer. Talk to current board members to see if it is of interest to you and let them know. Just find something you are passionate about.
