College entrance statistics for my high school

Some of you might find this data useful even if you didn’t go to my high school… This is college entrance data from my high school. Under each college, “ACC” means they were accepted… “REJ” means they were rejected…and if a “WENT” appears at that, that means they decided to enroll there…For the SAT scores…1st & 2nd columns SAT I 1st time, and then again if taken a second time…also shown are some SAT II scores

Here is the address:

The other trick you can use is to copy the QPA and do a cntl+F (FIND) and see where that individual applied and whether or not he/she got in…(provided no two applicants have the same QPA - not ALWAYS true…but sometimes this is useful)

Your high school gives a lot of good information. Very helpful.

Thanks forposting this. It is a very realistic set of information.

:)
I wish my school did this.

PS What is a QPA?

Thank you. This is great. Its easier than www.prstats.com....

that's awesome- thanks :)

it was almost frustrating to read, however. you see people with the same stats as you getting accepted AND rejected.... ugh i hate this process!

approx. how many people are in the senior class and how many colleges do they get to apply to?

thanks.. is your high school competative?

Carnegie Mellon
2004 REJ WL 3.639 16.549 760 770 N/A N/A 790 770 N/A

What? Rejected?

Emory
2004 ACC 2.624 12.871 660 730 N/A N/A N/A N/A N/A

Accepted? How?

And, this person must have rocked:
2004 ACC 3.929 17.773 760 680 710 740 770 780 710

Accepted to:
Barnard
Boston College
Boston Univ
Brown
Columbia
NYU
Princeton
Stanford
UPenn
Yale

Rejected from:
Harvard

wow that is very helpful thank you for posting :p

Absolutely fascinating.

This proves that the "Chances" board is a joke. You see 1420's getting rejected and 1150's getting accepted at the same schools with comparable GPA's. Really, no one knows if they got in until that letter comes.

What you can tell reading through is that there are clearly a large number of high performing competitive students yet there is a big mix. I would guess a fair number of URMs given admits with lowere than average stats in a lot of cases. A large mixed public school in CT?

Or some legacies with stats that would be fatal to mere mortals.

Wow I like how your high school does this. It's very useful

bump bump bump

I was interested in your comment, but I don't understand what URM stands for. Please explain.

out of curiosity, are you at Amity in CT? Judging by the number of people applying to NCC, Fairfield, Sacred Heart, etc., you are. I'm at Staples, in Westport. Our principal, Dr. Brady, just left to become your superindendent. Lucky you - He's awesome.

What's a QPA?

Also, I was surprised at the high number of qualified rejects at Tufts.

I was also surprised by how many kids really reached out (and were rightly rejected...a 2.5 GPA applying to Yale?).

exphysio, URM means underrepresented minority. Like being Hispanic or something.

"it was almost frustrating to read, however. you see people with the same stats as you getting accepted AND rejected.... ugh i hate this process!"
yeah. yeaaah.

my school might do this too, but they don't put it online.. at least i don't think so.
and oof. i saw that 3.929 gpa person too.. and i assumed it was a girl haha. i did so w/out realizing it.. but um, yeah. s/he's pretty amazing.. i want to know what she had going for her, especially since she was like the only one accepted to yale/penn/idk which other ones out of all the applicants that yr

haha for the past 40 minutes i think two of my friends and i sat around poring over this list (over aim)
