College Etiquette...

So, I've got some questions on college etiquette and whatnot.

In office hours and such, do you call your prof. "prof. _____", or Mr/Mrs/Miss/Dr?

Do teachers always start and end on time, or do they usually start late/end early or vice versa?

thanks!

All of this depends on the professor. Some arrive early, some late, and some on time. Some professors ask you to call them by their first name while others insist on begin called Dr. or Prof.

Just show respect and fix any mistakes you make and you’ll be fine

Dr. or Professor unless they say otherwise.

Most usually start and end on time +/- a couple minutes.

Always call a professor with a PhD “Dr. _______”.

I did not do this once and here was my response:

"I have worked all my life to get my PhD and I would appreciate it if you honor this and call me Dr. ________. "

The salutation is for respect, and is very strict in the business realm as far as I know.

^
Except with Corbin. Or “Brent”

LOL some guy once kept callin one of my profs mrs. ______ during office hours. she was getting so mad, i cud tell.

[What to call your Professor](http://www.phdcomics.com/comics/archive/phd033009s.gif)

use “professor” and not “teacher” in conversation, you’re in college now.

I’ve always addressed them as Professor ____ unless they tell me otherwise. I would never go by Mr/Ms. I hear that some female professors may be sensitive to this, since they already don’t get as much respect as their male peers, esp in male-dominated fields. Haha, aa6590, I can just imagine the annoyance that went with “Ms _”. Lol, “Mrs/Miss ” is even worse.
