I’m a heritage speaker of Tagalog currently a freshman in high school. I am aware that foreign language is a requirement for high school and college and I already know a lot about Tagalog. My school does not offer Filipino as a foreign language like many other schools in the US.
There are a few colleges that offer online Filipino courses and I was wondering if this college course will satisfy both high school and college requirements. Can foreign language count as dual credit?
Whether that would satisfy high school requires is up to your school, you’d have to ask them. However, the online college classes should fulfill admissions requirements at most colleges. One semester of college language courses usually is equivalent of one year high school language, so 4 semesters would give you 4 years of language.
