College GPA

I had a question concerning how to study for college exams. Currently, I find my classwork very easy although I'm taking a "rigorous" course load: Economics, Biology, Art History, and Astronomy. I'm like a week and a half ahead in my assignments and readings for all my classes. However, I'm very nervous that although the classes are seemingly easy, the tests will not be. I'm determined to get a 4.0 GPA (or strive for one!). (I go to a large state school, and although it is well regarded, I'm considering possibly transferring and would like to be prepared). In high school I was able to do the readings, go to class, and ace the exams without studying much, but I'm sure this is not the case in college. Therefore I'm unsure how to study for the tests. I have my first two midterms on Monday. So far I've been rereading my textbook notes and lecture notes, and retyping them in my own words, and trying to condense them to one page each (my bio professor suggested this strategy). My goal is to be able to explain everything on those study guides so that I know that I understand all the material. I'm unsure this will work. Does anyone have other suggestions on how to best prepare for college midterms? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I used the condensing notes strategy back in the dinosaur age, so I like that one.

I’d suggest you go to prof ofc hours or ask an upperclassman.
