My mailbox is being attacked by honor societies and I just wanted to know which ones are worth the money and which ones are scams.

National Society of Collegiate Scholars ($120)
Golden Keys International Honor Society ($80)
Phi Eta Sigma ($40)

My brother said that the golden keys was the only one that shows up on transcripts. Is this true?

My son also got a golden key invite and it was the only one he was interested in joining based on what he had heard around campus. I’m also interested to see if it shows on transcripts.

Thanks!

it shows on transcripts, but they’re really all scams. you don’t talk about them at interviews or do anything else with them really.

Golden Key is very strong and does a lot around campus, but it’s only worth it if you’re willing to commit and do events. You get what you put in.

The others are not really worth it, especially the National Society of College Scholars. Phi Eta Sigma is at least legit. The Society is a scam.
