I’m from NYC, but for the past few years I’ve been studying abroad. Therefore, my permanent address on the Common App is not the same as my current address, and my phone is listed as the home phone in NY because my phone here does not have an answer machine, and I cannot pick up during school hours.
A few days ago, I had already received an email from a Harvard alum asking if I would be available next week for an interview in NY, so I had to explain how I’m currently abroad. I am aware that most colleges will conduct interviews for applicants, so do I need to send emails to all the colleges I applied to and explain my situation, in case they think I’m being dishonest or avoiding interviews on purpose?
