College Life

Ok, so the point of this topic is to ask or hear people's opinion on the subject matter " COLLEGE LIFE AFTER 22" meaning anyone who is still in college or is going to college after 22.

Let's say for example 22-25yr old decides to go to college but is debating on dorming or not..
Is it ok for someone in that age group to dorm and live the college life or its better off not to dorm, and avoid the college life & just basically go to school as much as you can to get in and get out as quickly as possible learn your material, pass your tests etc and get to work?

I have some friends that are 21-24 and they went back to college, dorm and all. Some decided not to, but I am in the same seat wondering if its worth it or not.

If anyone of you have or know someone, please share your story, opinion, or advice.

Thanks

I would consider dorming if I could afford a single and if I had somewhere to go when the dorms are closed. It provides better access to facilities like libraries and makes it easier to organize one’s life around studying, which is my goal in going to school. I don’t have a spouse or children I need to live with. I have a friend who looked into getting a dorm room and then spending a couple of nights a week there so that she could study into the evening, but spending the rest of the time living at home with her husband. She eventually decided it wasn’t worth the money.

If I were 25 or under I probably would be happy sharing a room. That’s not a huge age difference with the other people living in the dorm. I think whether it would work for other people who are only a little older than traditional students depends on them. These days, though, there are plenty of people a little older than traditional students who have been in the military and are going to school on the GI Bill. I’d think it would be even less strange than usual for students a couple of years out of high school to be on campus.

I would not want to live in a freshman dorm at this point because of the noise and because I go to bed hours earlier than most people in freshman dorms do.

I would also consider dorming. It can make you enjoy your college life no matter what your age is. One of my classmates also dorm with us and she is 23 year old. We get along with each other well. It’s really for you to do so, and you can think about it.
