Hi,

I’m shopping for college materials right now, and I was just wondering if there are any specific items that Vanderbilt students need. Also, do I need to buy my own planner? Or does Vanderbilt provide us one?

They give you a planner if I remember correctly, but you might as well bring your own if you like a specific type/brand.

Vanderbilt almost always gives you a planner from my memory, filled with adds. If you want a less bulky planner then buy your own. An alternative that has worked for me is Google Calendar or the new Windows Calendar (You can easily make adjustments and do different colors, set reminders on your phone, ect.).

Things you should bring that you might overlook: OTC medicines. They are pretty steep at the munchie marts and you are probably going to suffer the “common plague”. Also, a spare pair of glasses / more than needed contacts is always a must. A battery bank for my phone has saved my life multiple times as well and is cheap.
