College next year! (woo!) Need a solid laptop

Thinkpads may not be too stylish, however, they BY FAR have the best keyboards that almost replicate a desktop keyboard. Easiest to type on, only hit, like I said, is the look.

Can the same be said for their consumer-line Ideapads?
I dont mind having an unstylish look, maybe decreases the possibility of being robbed =).
Plus the nice games/apps/stuff imma put onto the laptop once i receive it will make it hella stylish! (its been delayed 6 weeks! and some people have received theirs already =\ )

I second srunni's and the others' suggestions about ThinkPads. Try eBay for some good deals. I bought my T43 on eBay an love it. Built like a tank and always works.

Derek, I don't think Ideapads use the same keyboard as the thinkpads.

Oh, bummer.
Well thats okay, considering the price at which i got the Ideapad, i would certainly choose to save the 300-400 bucks rather than to have a better keyboard amongst other features.

I am very irritated by how their delaying the laptop when its clear that they have the capabilities to ship some out, as this one guy from the slickdeals forum says:
What I did was call, talk in a calm professional manner and dig into the rep and find out exactly WHY my laptop did not ship on 12/3, then WHY it didn't on 12/15, then 12/17, THEN I asked why it was delayed to ship in Jan, increasing my temperament with each ******** answer I was given. -I got 3 day shipping on the 17th, wasn't charged until the laptop was in transit and received the thing in 2 days!

I've already sent an email and i hope i wont have to feint an angry phone call as well...

Buy a macbook. It's a great investment, they last FOREVER.
