College of General Studies...Acceptances/Rejections

<p>IF you applied to the CGS post ur stats and whether or not you got in…</p>

<p>i applied cgs...but there is no decision on my page. Maybe im looking at the wrong one...can someone walk me through it

<p>after waiting for half an hour...the website said i was accepted! :-)
My stats:
sat. 1300/1980
gpa. 4.0
five total AP classes
120+ hours of community service
yrbk editor, international club vp,
art club/art partners, outdoors club,
NHS, impact.
part time job.
Grrreat essay/rec.
Hook: speak russian fluently, foster kid
White, female, NY state.</p>

I FIRMLY decided on International Relations as
a major and I was wondering if BU's program
was good. Please tell me why I should pick BU
over AmericanU or SUNY Geneseo???? tnx!</p>

<p>Just curious...what made you guys choose to apply to CGS? Do you apply to BU and they just put you there or is it a different application?</p>

and a little surprised.</p>

<p>Rejected. Very disappointed. BU really was my top choice. It doesn't help that this is the 3rd rejection within the last 3 days.</p>

strong recs, essays</p>

<p>ecs: yearbook editor 2 years, involved in 2 service clubs, 4 years in choir, trained 25 hours/ week for rhythmic gymnastics, ranked 16th in country, competed internationally etc...participated in foreign exchange program in France.</p>

<p>I applied to 7yr Bio Dental program but i got into CGS!! im bummed</p>

<p>lily888.... i would go to American over BU for international relations, American's SIS is much better than BU</p>

<p>I applied to CAS and got placed here. My SATs were low, so I'm guessing that's why. GPA- 3.9; SAT- 640 (Math), 530(Reading)&500(writing). Can anyone tell me info about CGS? I don't understand it to well.</p>

<p>GPA: 3.8 uw/4.3 w (5 AP classes/1 honors class altogether)
Rank: 50/670 (something like that)
SATs: 1200/1950 (this must've been the deciding factor)
SATIIs: 670 (Spanish); 600 (Literature)
Essays: Great
Recs: Teachers (wonderful); Counselor (who knows--no personal attention--big public high school in Cali)
ECs: Lots, including president/founder of three clubs, job at Smith Barney (brokerage house), volunteerwork at two distinct places since 10th grade, Spanish tutor, college level courses taken in Spain, etc.</p>

<p>I'm slightly disappointed, but still psyched to be attending BU next year!!</p>
