I’m a rising senior in high school and recently I’ve been getting a lot of emails and letters from colleges. My SAT and GPA are quite high and I’ve been looking into some pretty competitive schools. Over the past month I’ve been consistently receiving emails from Northwestern and The University of Chicago. My SAT scores are slightly lower than their average admissions statistics but their letters show they have an interest in me. Does this mean I will have a higher chance getting in there even though my scores aren’t exactly on par with the average?
Nope. It’s just marketing. Means nothing. The schools want lots of kids to apply so they can brag about how selective they are when they turn down most kids.
Good to know. Thanks!
