College Psychologist

I'm having issues with a relationship and it's taking my grades down, so I would like to talk to a college psychologist.

1) How do I find where my school's psychologist are located?
2) Does it cost money?
3) What's the experience like walking into their office?

Thanks

1) Go on the school's website...should be a section on Counseling somewhere
2) Usually no
3) IDK.

1) Possibly type in "counseling" or "psychologist" in your school's website's search engine

2) Usually it's free or a nominal free (e.g., $5-10/session)

3) Can't say that I've been to my school's psychologist as a regular client but for a few of my classes, we've had to do sessions with an intern and it's always been pretty nondescript...you just walk in, tell them you have an apt w/ so and so and such and such a time...just like a dr's office. On your way in for the first session, you may be given an intake evaluation sheet asking you a few questions about yourself and why you're there.

Good luck with everything!

umm my school has a "hall health", a special health services for students. maybe your school has something similar. it should be under mental health in there.

i'm not sure... i tried to request one, but they said they'd have to contact my insurance company, so i have no idea.

i have yet to go
