College Recommendations?

I'm a rising senior at an above-average high school in the Chicago suburbs in Illinois (obviously) and I am flip-flopping between my future schools and am not very confident in my selections. I would appreciate it if you guys could recommend me schools based on my stats as well as chance me at the few schools that I do list. Take it easy on me, I'm a CC posting virgin :).

Stats:

Top 10% of class of 453 even though school doesnt officially rank

Hook i guess- I have a disease called PKU that is screened for at birth that has the potential to make the child mentally handicapped, it impedes the brain's functioning

AP Scholar with Distinction

Illinois State Scholar (assumed)

Miscellaneous

Recommendations should be awesome considering from my science and english professors

Personal statement should also be awesome, I plan on writing about how I have had to mature much more quickly than my peers because of the added responsibility of having PKU while dealing with both parents having stage 4 cancer within 1-2 years of each other

Possible Schools
Vanderbilt (Reach)
Northwestern (Reach)
Duke (Reach)
U of I UC (Safety, In-State)
Rice (Reach)

Recommended-For you to decide

Let me know if I forgot anything else. Thanks so much in advance!

bumpidy bump

Perhaps Boston University or Boston College or NYU.

Look at school in that range on the US News rankings.

Am i being overambitious maybe?

Intended major? Cost constraints?

If UIUC is a safety for both admissions and cost, that’s pretty good, since UIUC is one of the top universities in the country.

I intend to major in either pre-med or history, not quite sure yet. But i for sure want to go to grad school.
