I was looking at the teacher recommendations for some of the colleges I am looking to apply to and most want one. However, U. of Chicago wants two from teachers that have taught you in an academic field. I don't think I'll have a problem getting a rec. from my apush teacher. But I was wondering if it was a good idea to get the other from my accounting teacher (who has taught me in accounting for two years) and who also happens to be my FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) adviser, as I am a member and a state officer for Kansas.

I think ideally Chicago likes to see contrasting recommendations—one from history/english and one from a science/math teacher. It’s a fabulous school but make sure you really look at what the core curriculum contains.
