I wanted to ask do colleges see how many times one has taken the SAT? Because I find it unfair colleges that superscore see someone who has taken the SAT several times and received a 2330 superscore as better than someone who has taken the Sat once and received a 2320. Superscoring is idiotic to me because students can take the test several times just to maximize their “superscore” by focusing on individual sections each test.
Yes colleges do see how many times you attempted the test.
They don’t do that. 10 points is meaningless.
They don’t see how many times you took the test if you use score choice. The College Board says there is no way a school can tell if you use score choice or not. You have no way of knowing how schools interpret the scores.
well this brings me to a second question @marvin100 and @lostaccount should I retake a 2320 (720 Reading, 800 Wr, 800M). It seems most people on CC believe most colleges see scores above 2300 as the same
I’ve said this many times, @hilariousbanana – the combined score isn’t what matters. The TOP TIER is 750+ in each section. The closer you can get to that, the better. Your scores are great. You can try retaking to get CR over 750, but you may choose not to because of opportunity (or $) cost.
@marvin100 Just wondering, would I still be considered to be in the “top tier” if in my super score (2 sittings) my only score below 750 would be a 740 CR, while the rest are 800’s?
@chyaboi123 Yes
@marvin100 — Is @payn4ward right?
Probably. Kind of on the cusp, but at 740 it is extremely unlikely that your SAT will be a serious factor if you don’t get admitted.
If you’re really worried that your CR740 is not enough for the colleges you’re looking into, then take the SAT one more time. Jan is your last chance to take the current Old format before the new format starts in March.
