ok so here goes. I am going to be a senior this year and have spent a lot of time recently looking into colleges. I am from California and am looking for schools in state and in Oregon and Washington, since I love the rain and was actually born in Oregon. I am looking into Christian schools because I was raised in a somewhat Christian home and just like the aspects of a close knit community and no Greek Life/parties. However, I do not know if I am strong enough in my faith to go to a truly conservative Christian school, and the male to female ratios of most of these schools scares me a little. Can anyone tell me about Christian schools that maybe aren’t as conservative, or of any public schools that are low on the party/drug scene? Right now the majors/minors I’m exploring are music (commercial or business), english creative writing, and graphic design.
tip: better titles get more replies. This is a college search forum so ‘college search’ is already assumed. West Coast Christian Colleges would have been a terrific title. There is also a Christian Colleges forum that may be too quiet

So many on the West Coast. I can’t think of any that I know are particularly conservative except Pepperdine, but I don’t know them that well. Perhaps the evangelical are more conservative, the Jesuit ones are not and they are the best of the bunch as well. I don’t know if I have them all but extracted from another list in no paticular order:
Gonzaga p Jesuit
Loyola Marymount U p Catholic
Pepperdine p Church of Christ
U of Portland p
U of San Diego p Jesuit
Univ Ssn Fran p Jesuit
Santa Clara U p Jesuit
St Mary’s of CA p Lasalle
Seattle U p Jesuit
NW Nazerene p
Seattle Pacific p-4k Jesuit
Azusa Pacific p
Calif Baptist p
Dominican, CA p Catholic
Fresno Pacific p
Holy Names p
Norre Dame de Namur p Catholic
Pt Loma Nazarene p
Cal Pacific
La Sierra p 7th Day Adventist
Pacific Union p 7th Day Adventist
Providence Pasadena p Christian reformed
Biola p-8k Evangelical
Hope International p-1k Christian
SD Christian p-<1k Evangelical
Vanguard p-2k Christian
Westmont p-1k Interdenom
Concordia Portland 2.5k Lutheren 58
St. Martins, WA p Benedictine
Thanks for the tip! And thanks for all the colleges! I have definitely looked more closely at the strictly evangelical schools but I’ll be sure to check out the Jesuit ones as well!
I go to Pepperdine, don’t believe everything you hear. yes it is a school associated with church of christ but a lot of people here have very different religious beliefs/levels of faith. if you want religion you can find it, if you don’t you might have one or two unwanted invites to convo but no one trying to shove it in your face. It is dry campus (no partying/drugs) and there is greek life but very relaxed compared to other schools. as for the ratios, yes it is a bit hard to get dates but that is not why you should pick a college, there are so many other ways to meet people and not all girls are catty. good luck with your search!
