<p>I never thought I’d say this, but I am so glad my daughter was diagnosed with depression her sophomore year in high school. Because of the counseling she received, she learned how to take care of herself really well, how to recognize negative self-talk, how much sleep and exercise she needs to thrive, and most importantly, when to seek help. </p>
<p>She’s had a few blips in the road this year, her first year in college, but she really took charge of her mental health, seeking a counseling session in a few cases, and just making herself get more rest in others. She is off her meds and is thriving.</p>
