Going from Long Island to Penn, Georgetown, Duke, and (possibly)UNC and then back in two days (one night). Possible? Im planning on going during february brake which is in like two weeks. Any advice or insight will be extremely helpful. This is the first time my family or i are going to visit colleges. Were extremely tight with money, i mean REALLY tight, so im trying to make it as less costly as possible. If its too much money we might try to go to Yale, Boston College, and Boston U in just one night, but id rather do my first trip.

bump......

If you're going from L.I., why not take the LIRR to NY and change trains and take a train to Philly so you can see Penn and then on another trip do the same thing but take train down
to DC. You'll save money by not having to stay in a hotel and you can pack food with you for the day.

I think taking a train from long island to north carolina will cost more than a room for a night. Also its a lot more limited not having a car

From Penn to Georgetown is about 2 hours. It is a 4.5 hour drive from Georgetown to the Durham area, depending on traffic - do not speed in VA.

In NC you can probably find a Holiday Express hotel, which includes breakfast, for about $80 a night.
