It seems like your expecting other people to certify that McGill is better than some of the US’ better public colleges? I’m sorry but that isn’t going to happen because it isn’t the case… I agree with this poster. McGill is a great school by Canadian standards, but not by US standards.

osucowboys: McGill is a great public school by US standards also. I do think that it is as good as or better than San Diego, GA Tech, Urbana-Champaign, and Madison in many areas and at least better than schools like Seattle, Davis, Irvine, Santa Barba, Austin, and College Park.

Now I’m kinda interested; my future school or Canada? I always thought McGill was equivalent to a school like Cornell or Brown though.

Anyone else with a differing opinion?

McGill
UToronto
Syracuse
Syracuse
Baelor, you’re misguided. UToronto is comparable to/better than UT Austin and certainly better in prestige than Syracuse.

vinnyli, I never said that UToronto is better or worse than anything. But I can tell you that even in my state, which borders Canada, UToronto is literally unknown while Syracuse is not. I can only operate on the information that I have regarding “prestige.”

sorry, i was tired, I know it isn’t GWSL, but WUSTL. MY BAD. And thanks for giving me a break.
I tend to disagree with you guys on McGill’s standing. McGill’s prestige is off the roofs compared to many of the schools you have placed above. Go anywhere in the world, maybe apart from the US which always holds itself in higher esteem than “other” places, and people will recognize and respect the name McGill. Now when it comes to academic quality, I concede that McGill may be lacking in some areas, notably business, however it is extremely good for liberal arts as well as medical school and psychology. I disagree with many of your rankings, but wtv, everybody has their opinions, and this should probably be moved to a different thread.
OSU I don’t know of any of those universities, so next person please answer his/her question?

If you don’t know all about how amazingly prestigious Tarleton State Community College-Fort Worth campus is, don’t bother telling us about how amazingly prestigious McGill is.

Lol, hopefully that’s sarcasm. As for the comparisons:

Emporia State University (Altho I’ve never heard of it, looked it up and 4 year > 2 year)
