For students who have trouble searching for a good college that fits their needs, is the Collegeboard college matchmaker a good resort? How helpful do you think it is?

Another approach is princetonreview's "Other schools to consider". Find a school you like and PR will show you other schools like it. I think you have to create a PR login to use this feature.

I think their program is garbage.

agreed, especially the PR one

Yeah I agree as well, because I did some research on colleges that fit my needs, and none of them showed up when I used the college matchmaker. Another item that collegeboard has used is their 'Official' SAT Guide. My friend attends Princeton, and he told me to use Collegeboard's SAT Guide. Bull. It's literally a scam. I used McGraw Hill's books, Barron's books, and Kaplan's books, and my SAT scores improved a lot more than when I used Collegeboard's book. Interesting....

They are okay, but they really only list major colleges and universities. You might want to try out EduTrek. They list basically every school in the usa… literally. You can even find tattoo schools. My brother found some little trucking schools on there to getting CDL training and whatnot. Of course, they also have the big schools too.

I’d watch out for other search sites though. A lot of them will only show you schools that make a profit, and they collect your info and bombard you with junk from those schools.

You might try ■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■. Enter a college that you like and it will list similar colleges based on their criteria.

@Benham: With no preparation for the SAT I got 1680. When I prepared using only the SAT study guide, my SAT score went up to a 2110 ! So I don’t see how it is a scam.
