I'm a catholic conservative teetotler. Any colleges that I'll fit in at? I've heard Pepperdine is pretty conservative and Christian. What about Hillsdale, Catholic U, etc.? Any others?

Grove City.

You would also be able to find a niche at Notre Dame.

ive looked at Grove City, Wheaton, etc, but would prob feel weird going to chapel with a huge stain glass window of Martin Luther, ya know? Am i being stupid...should I still consider these schools if they're not catholic or nondenominational, church of christ, or something not as opposite to catholocism and lutheranism and such are?

I think Vanderbilt is a good fit for you. Yes, it has a party scene but I know 100% you can find the religious niche there.

I would also try Davidson. More conservative than most LACs and not really a party school. Great basketball team too.

Not neccesary to consider Christian colleges but some of this might be helpful

I especially reccomend this book

You didn't say what part of the country but there are a lot of options.....
In CA there's Santa Clara U, Pepperdine, Westmont. In Texas there is Baylor which is large and offers a lot of majors. Of course, Wheaton in Illinois is reputable as well. many more.

No offense, but good luck attending any college and coming out the same as you entered.

FWIW, UDallas and Thomas Aquinas were the only catholic universities ranked in the top 10 conservative schools.
Be careful with some conservative Christian colleges (especially Bob Jones and Patrick Henry), you may run into anti-catholic sentiments.

I don't care what part of the country the schools in..i'd prolly wanna avoid baptist schools like baylor..anything way different from catholicism. Do you think placed like Grove City, Wheaton, etc. would still be good matches for me even though I'm Catholic...or would places like Biola be strange since its a bible college and im not a part of evangelical protestantism? the actual schools as a whole i love..

Bob Jones University...hahaa

Carrol College in MT is supposd to be very nice. Also, maybe look at King's College in PA.

Christendom College
Thomas Aquinas College
University of Dallas
Wyoming Catholic College

Presbyterian Schools with strong Catholic student populations:
Hampden-Sydney College
Davidson College
Grove City College

If you otherwise like the school, you would be fine at Baylor. Generally, Catholics make up the 2nd largest religious group (after Baptists, which are usually far less than half). Also, although the school is fairly relgious, it is not very doctrinal.

Many Catholics drink and party quite a bit (dear to my own heart as an Episcopalian) so your criteria might be hard to meet.

The suggestion of Vanderbilt is NOT a good one, in my opinion. I recommend Vanderbilt to many people, but for someone who does not want a big party scene, it is not the right place. True, you could find "like-minded peers" there, but you would have to do some serious searching.

Thanks for the replies! I'm sure in college I'll have a beer or two but I just don't want to get drunk and do something stupid. In hight school I've never drank because everyone who does goes all out..ya know, but I have a ton of friends who don't drink. I'm sure it'll change in college and I won't be so "prudish".

Any other suggestions?

i would recommend Palm Beach Atlantic Univ in West Palm Beach, FL. They are a Christian college with a wide variety of religious denominations there, including a strong Catholic representation.

You will find Notre Dame to be surprisingly conservative.

Wheaton fires profs who go Catholic. You will not be welcome there.

I heard about that at Wheaton...should I avoid places like, Wheaton b/c of biases against Catholocism....any other Christian schools I should avoid...

I'm not looking for a Liberty, Bob Jones kinda school fyi....but just w/ really friendly Christian-like people where a devout Catholic will be accepted..I'm open to other religions...but would it be weird going somewhere like Biola, Grove City, or somewhere else if I'm not protestant

if you don't mind NY, Houghton College might be a fit

In that case, you can find a niche just about at any Catholic college. Even at liberal Jesuit party schools like BC and Loyola, there's a significant population that keep devout and their politics and livers straight despite the hefty influence otherwise.
