Colleges in the Forest

This is a fun list of colleges that are in the beautiful nature of trees. Pines trees and etc.

I'll start:

University of California Santa Cruz!

UCSC is located among Redwood groves.

Reed College in Portland has a forested canyon and wetlands nature preserve.

Do you mean colleges with forests growing both in and around them, or ones that are surrounded by forests? If it’s the latter, there are a ton of possibilities ranging from Oxford College of Emory University to Georgia College and State University to Michigan Tech. If it’s the former, there are far fewer options. College of the Atlantic, Evergreen State, University of Maine -Orono/ Presque Island, Appalachian State, and Humboldt State come to mind but I’m hard pressed to think of others.

IMO having hiked through both the trails around Humboldt State and Oxford of Emory it doesn’t matter if a school is in a forest or next to one so long as the trails are nearby and decently maintained.

Kenyon college is in the middle of a forest.

Sewanee

Montreat College outside Asheville, NC
