Colleges that look at SAT WRITING section seriously

Are there any top notch colleges that look count SAT WRITING section as a real section like Critical reading?
I know that Cornell considers it as a SAT2..

FOr example- JHU/Northwestern/ Vanderbilt/Rice/ U Penn/ Dartmouth etc...

harvard does

stanford..

Any other colleges??? help~~~

I heard from a friend of mine that Swarthmore looks at your Writing score and the essay too...

The UC system first demanded that the writing section be put on the SATI, so I imagine they look at it seriously.

here's how much each college looks at it:

also, i emailed cornell and they said they were not using the writing. Here's exactly what they said:
We are currently looking at the writing for research purposes, not for admissions purposes, so we're still looking at the 1600 scale. The ACT writing is the same.

That can't be right. There's no way Yale gives the SAT Writing no weight, because they wouldn't admit someone with a 450 on it no matter what they say(even for a legacy/athlete/URM that would be a stretch)

Those that do consider it are treating it like they did the old SAT II writing, i.e., like one of your SAT II's. Nevertheless, many are being wary of weight put on it, even those that are considering it, including because of the recent admission by the College Board that studies it is doing show the writing portion is easily coachable.

i know jhu considers the writing section as out of 800 but not sure if they consider it as equal/lesser weight...they didn;t really give a clear answer...anyhow...northwestern is listed as one who gives less weight...so ur list above is kind of wrong =(

William and Mary said they do not look at the writing section. One adcom told me when she visited my school.

anymore schools?????????????????

help help help help

Penn does. dunno if it is very critical (hope so, cuz that was my strongest)

i visited northwestern and the guy there said they weren't using the writing section at all
