Colleges that Produce the Most Billionaires

just thought that was interesting.

Harvard students are more likely to become billionaires than graduates of any other college.

I hope people don't read into this. Harvard isn't making people into billionaires. There is no secret that you will gain by going to Harvard. The people themselves make themselves billionaires. I'm sure that someone who is a billionaire would be a billionaire regardless of whether they went to Kansas State or Harvard.

Tell that to Steve Ballmer. The reason why he's the CEO of Microsoft (and hence a billionaire), is, frankly, that he was Bill Gates's old poker-playing buddy at Currier House at Harvard.

Look, I can agree that Gates would probably be a billionaire no matter where he went to school. But Ballmer? That's a far tougher case to make. Ballmer would probably be a successful business manager, but it's hard to see how he would have actually become a billionaire if he had never gone to Harvard and therefore had never met Gates.

The article discusses that facet- it's not so much Harvard curriculum, etc. but the networking. Also, Harvard is notorious for selecting based on demonstrated success thus far, more so than the rest of the ivies. I mean, I'm sure Bush Jr. wasn't selected on academic merit. But he's president. His father was president and that spoke loud enough for his application.

they went to yale

Then again, you can't really use the Bill Gates thing, because he's technically not a graduate of Harvard, he was only granted an honorary degree after he dropped out.

omg, no wonder there's all this commotion with Harvard. Many international ppl will buy this.

I'm using the Steve Ballmer example because he did graduate from Harvard.
