I am legit crying right now. The CollegeBoard really screwed us over. I actually took the required twenty minutes like I was supposed to and those sections went very well for me. Our biggest concern and rumor most people are facing is some selective colleges won’t accept this score? Is this true?
Anyone know of any colleges that won’t accept the June 6th SAT Score?
I really hope they’ll offer a retest, I honestly think I did better on 8 and 9 than the rest of the test. Also I don’t think colleges will discredit you for something out of your control. If the score you receive is lower than you expect, say so on a college application if there’s no option to take the test in the future.
Didn’t take the June SAT, but I tend to do well on the 20 minute sections, so I’m sympathizing. Good luck.
@Wannabenerd1 Not sure if you created that petition, but there is one part which won’t work.
“In addition, The College Board should grade the previous exams normally for those students who do not want to take a retest.”
Many students had 25 minutes on those 20 minute sections, and scoring those students normally is unfair to test-takers of other dates, since the rest of us only had 20 minutes for the same 19 questions.
Honestly, the collegeboard needs to give us what we paid for: A TEN section STANDARDIZED test. The misprint was completely unprofessional and as a business, they should acknowledge that and offer a free retake as compensation.
@Wannabenerd1 What happens if you get .5 as the average? Does that round up or down? For example, you missed 0 on one math section, and 1 on the other 25 minute.
Taking out the two affected sections made it standardized again, and that’s what the colleges want: an objective, standardized measure of academic performance. I don’t see why any college wouldn’t accept the scores.
As most are aware College Board has determined not to score the last math and reading sections of the June 6 SAT test because of the ETS error https://lp.collegeboard.org/information-regarding-the-saturday-june-6-sat-administration It claims the scores it will issue will be valid. Colleges get to determine for themselves if they will accept or reject any test date. That decison-making has not yet occurred but if CB is confirming the validity of the scores it will provide, I believe it highly unlikely that any college will reject the scores.
