I'm a junior looking to major in international relations...2100 on SAT (1st time...I'll try again :), 4.0 gpa, I think cool ECs.

As I've been looking at various schools, I was really surprised that lots of colleges are like 60% women, 40& men (maybe it varies a bit) and I'd really like to attend a school that's half & half...or maybe even more guys. I know it sounds weird to say that...but I attended an all-girls schools and I want something different...more balanced. Are there any northeast/southeast/maybe mid-atlantic schools that aren't tech centers (not that i could get into MIT but there are many more guys there than girls) but are good liberal arts/politics/business?

You might want to check out state u’s that are known for engineering. The universities will have a wide array of majors but the engineering major will draw a lot of males to balance the male/female ratio.

Note that about 57% of college students in the US are female.

Also, some college majors are heavily male and others are heavily female. Heavily male majors include engineering, computer science, philosophy, theology, history, physical sciences. Heavily female majors include library science, public administration and social service, education, psychology, area/cultural/gender studies, English, communications, biological sciences, and visual and performing arts. Social studies (other than psychology) and business are fairly close to even, though.

Look at schools that offer engineering as that usually brings the male/female ratio in line. Many non-tech schools have an engineering department (ex. Lehigh, Lafayette, Bucknell, Union, URochester to name but a few).
