I'm kinda new here, so I'm not really sure if I'm doing this right. -_-
But here goes:

Female
Asian-American
Live in Ohio

Scores
2170 SAT
710 CR, 720 M, 740 W
33 ACT
35 Eng, 34 Math, 31 Reading, 29 science
800 US History SAT II, 750 Lit SAT II

Academics:
3.86 unweighted GPA
4.39 weighted
ranked 11/616
-Summa Cum Laude on the National Latin Exam 2 years, Magna Cum Laude one year
Issues:
- I got a C+ 2nd semester in Honors Anatomy....that class required so much memorization and we had one test that was worth over 200 points and the average grade was below a 50%. So..my grade wasn't great. I'm not pursuing a science major but I"m scared this will look terrible.
- My school, although considered good, doesn't offer AP courses to freshmen and sophomores. We were required to take introductory 91/101/"Advanced"-but-not-weighted courses those years. So far, i've only taken one AP class...
-There's a general downward trend in my grades, but then again, my classes are significantly more demanding every year. I've still kept As in English and Social Studies classes, which are what I'd rely most on as a PoliSci major.

Extracurriculars:
- On the editorial board of a national award-winning magazine. With the rest of the ed board, we interview candidates for other editorial positions, manage the other editors, organize workshops for future editors over the summer, etc. It's not a typical high school newspaper. I will also be creating a website for the next academic year (def. gonna use this for supplements and milk this in my interview. our last issue was over 100 pages, full color)
- Attorney on the first mock trial team at my school to make it to regionals
- NHS
- Band
- Youth Orchestra (the top music group in my area; we have musicians who've toured Europe and we play hard repertoire)
- All-State Band
-other random clubs I won't list because they're the meaningless resume-filler types.

Athletics:
Swam freshman and sophomore year for both school and club team. It got way too time-consuming, but I was a district qualifier and (the not as prestigious as it sounds) YMCA nationals qualifier. I know it won't do much good. But it's there.

Improving on before applying:
-finding a place to regularly do community service instead of haphazardly like now
-retaking either SAT or ACT

I know I sound pretty mediocre, but I know for a fact that my newspaper advisor/journalism teacher writes stellar, lengthy, multiple page recommendation letters. I'm also pretty confident in my essay-writing skills.
PLEASE list schools you think will take me?
