<p>Yeah, there just wasn't the level of campus life I was looking for. Also, I wanted a more LACy type school with more alumni loyalty, study abroad, etc.</p>
<p>i was also deciding whether to apply to penn ED or columbia ED, and i just decided on columbia. i visited, loved both schools, would be happy at any one, probably won't get into either, etc. </p>
<p>i don't know whether the students are more pre-professional, but the penn curriculum definitely is. i'd major in neuroscience in columbia, biological basis of behavior in penn. they mostly offer the same courses, but columbia lists classes like "evolution of consciousness and intelligence" and "philosophical and empirical issues of consciousness" as possible electives under psych seminars. penn's bbb courses are all very practical. </p>
<p>also, penn hates my school (1 acceptance in the last 3 years from 50+ apps). not that columbia's much better. (2 acceptances in the last 3 years from 30+ apps).</p>
