Hello! I would really appreciate your thoughts on my chances of getting into columbia MA in biotechnology. I graduated from a large state research school in 2012 with a BS in biomedical research including 2 1/2 years of independent honorsresearch in physiology. My GPA was 3.5, however i had a long struggle with a serious medical problem so my transcript looks messy- lots of W's from retroactive medical withdrawals and a downward grade trend. Since graduation my medical problems have cleared up. I have been working in biotech/pharma R&D since then (about 2.5 years). My letters of recomendation are from research professors, coworkers, and supervisors. All are good and my professors talk about my medical problems, as they were heavily involved. Any thoughts would be highly appreciated! This is my top choice school! Thanks so much

I’m a current student. Last years admin rate was 16% but they don’t release statistics on UG GPA or standardized scores mean or range. Your statement of purpose is the most important component of your application. Discuss what you are passionate about in biotech and how the program can help you realize goals you might have in the industry.
