Essays (rating 1-10, details): 9/10
wrote about how in 9th grade in the mandatory mile run I was last to finish/barely passed and I went to cry in the bathroom but went on to make huge lifestyle changes and lost 60 lbs, became an activist for organic/healthy food and started running road races, cross country and track during senior year, supplements were strong too (many drafts and I thought about all of them thoroughly)
Recommendations (rating 1-10, details):
Teacher Rec #1: english teacher who liked me enough that he once saw my dad in the post office on the weekend and told him he loved me and I was his favorite student
Teacher Rec #2: environmental sci teacher who loves me, I got the highest scores of the class on midterm and final and she is mentor of the enviro club so she knows me well
Counselor Rec: probably weakest of the bunch, she doesn’t know me very well/understand me but I’m sure she only wrote good things (no animosity or anything)
Additional Rec: n/A
Interview: went well in my opinion. told me at the end she hoped I got everything I wanted and asked me what I wanted her to emphasize on the form she submitted

Reflection
Strengths: essays, extracurriculars, steady improvement of grades over high school
Weaknesses: all my first qrtr grades were 98-100 range except an 81 in english because my teacher is satan, test scores, class rank because my school is so competitive
Why you think you were accepted/deferred/rejected: weak first quarter grade and test scores/rank
Where else were you accepted/deferred/rejected: nowhere yet
General Comments: it stings right now but it’ll motivate me to keep working hard and hopefully get some good news in march. It’s just disgusting to imagine working for another 4 months though… congrats to all accepted and good luck to those who were deferred/rejected
