Have been hearing great things about this place and am very interested... Sounds like a great artistic school right in the center of chicago. Any thoughts?

i live in chicago, and from what ive heard growing up it doesnt have that great of a reputation. its called the art wing of a community college. ive never seen a show or anything, but i know it is very easy to get in, and therefore not very well regarded.

Ronit-when you say the art wing of a community college...do you mean you take classes at a community college and then your p.a. classes at Columbia College? There are 2 Florida Schools that do that-New World School of the Arts and Florida College of the Arts. I have also been told to look at Columbia as a non-audition school option and wonder if it should stay on the list

columbia college is where i will be going in the fall. they actually seem like a perfect fit for me. they have loads of options (except for musical theatre dance) that you can take for gen eds (or as they call them LAS core classes) there are about 12000 kids total in the school. there are about 80 freshman musical theatre students
