I wanted to start a thread for those who are applying for the fall semester. I just finished submitting all the required materials before the January 15th deadline. I’m a transfer applicant, with a solid GPA (3.9 the past three semesters) and five years of professional work experience as an account executive at a marketing firm near D.C. I opted to not view my letters of recommendation, but I am pretty confident they are solid. Also, I invested a lot of time writing a thorough essay detailing my experiences. Crossing my fingers for good news when March 1st rolls around!
Anyone else applying for early or regular decision?
I was accepted for Spring then deferred until this semester. Your stats are similar to mine so you should be good. I’m really just perusing these threads just to see what people’s financial aid offer is, as that will make or break whether or not I’ll be able to attend.
Hey there! I was able to submit my application prior to the Jan 15th deadline as well. Really looking forward to hearing back, and I hope we can both see each other in Manhattan this fall!
Hi @atwhatcost. I hope so, too! Just for my own peace of mind, did you receive a confirmation that your materials were received? I didn’t, but on the application checklist page, all of my materials have a green check mark. I guess that means they were processed and received, right?
Kia, I never received an email saying my application was complete. Like you said, I just have all green check marks. The suspense is killing me. I need to stop logging on to check the admissions status page!
I had a phone interview yesterday and was told the admissions committee will meet again next week. Really hope that doesn’t mean I won’t hear anything tomorrow
I applied for early decision. I just logged into my application portal and there is a new red x asking for official spring 18 grades from my college. Has anyone else had that happen? Has anyone heard back from them yet??
The red x is still there but nothing has been emailed or updated yet. Im trying to avoid calling and asking for updates, but I’m dying to know what time we will find out!!
From what I know they usually send emails at around 5 pm, it is a trend from what I was able to ask in campus and search around forums (I was accepted for spring but deferred to fall) @Everynight did they told you anything about when deferred students will receive the new letter (the letter says April but when I spoke to the admission office they told it would be early march at around the same time as the fall early decisions ( today)
@norcalbusiness the red X indicates that they now need the official transcripts (mine was also with the red Xs when I was accepted and several other people I spoke with that were admitted, apparently is a big indicator that you are in! )
I know that in past admissions cycles, GS called a select number of applicants in advance to congratulate them personally. Has anyone received a call? Thanks, @ConundrumGS, for letting us know that they usually wait until 5 pm!
@gsprospective - no call or email yet… but I’m on the edge of my seat right now waiting. the idea of getting a call just ramped up my anxiety a bit more! I’m nervous to look away from my phone now!!
