Columbia-Juilliard exchange?

<p>It’s possible to get into both but not the exchange program. After you get into both, however, Juilliard makes the decision; the final call is based on musical ability. But yeah, it would seriously suck to get into the individual schools but not the exchange :/</p>

<p>I have no idea what the acceptance rate for RCM is, but I’d imagine you’d have to be pretty darn good to be accepted for the joint program with Princeton. A lot of these dual-degree agreements between universities and conservatories are relatively new, so music schools are being careful with their prestige.</p>

<p>That’s understandable. But what do you have to do to get chosen for the exchange…? Do you have to audition again?</p>

<p>I don’t think so. I’m pretty sure Juilliard admits people normally, looks at who’s indicated interest in the exchange, and then looks at who got into Columbia. Out of those people, they pick the top musicians for the exchange, based on their original auditions.</p>
