Columbia Official Early Decision Class of 2010 Results

Im filling out my part two application for Columbia College Regular Decision. I need help filling out some answers, and I was wondering if anyone can read over my Columbia essay and responses, preferably people with 2100's range SATs and like 3.7-3.8 GPAs. Please give me ur SNs, and my SN is aszx5527. Please!!!

Hey all,
I am currently a freshman at Columbia (CC 09) so I know how you must all be feeling. I want to assure all deferrees that it is not over! I applied regular decision, was waitlisted, and thought I was off to Brown, but, almost daily, emailed my regional admissions officer and begged him to let me in with reasons I love Columbia, what I could offer, some other really ridiculous things, and I got in mid-May. So don't let Columbia forget about you! Pursue your admission. HTH

Hi all,
Argh I came back from a vacation last week to find I'd been deferred. Thank goodness I started on my other apps, but I've gotta finish them now... well good luck to all the deferred.

I graduated from Barnard College, Columbia Univ. in 1975. My son wishes to apply to Columbia. Would he be considered a legacy?

no. ten ch

what does "no ten ch" mean?

his/her response was "no", and "ten ch" means that to post something it must be ten characters long, so he included "ten ch" to meet the minimum length requirement for a post

coumbia cc!

and im in baby, heck yes

What does SEAS stand for?

"What does SEAS stand for?"

School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. It's the Columbia Fu Foundation basically.

Is it likely that some of the people who were accepted here ED would be rejected RD?

Absolutely not. On top of that I am slightly amused/offended that you wrote "Barnard College, Columbia Univ." Barnard College is not in Columbia U like SEAS is for example, its its own college with its own admissions and its own rankings....as a rule of thumb, if you can apply to both at the same time, they arent related.

It is hard but not impossible. Columbia rejects 91% RD. One probably needs to change something - great 7th semester grades or something. Figure out the reason for the deferral and fix it.

*Decision: ACCEPTED *

If you take 4 SAT II's, will Columbia (or any college) see them all, or can you only send the 2 (or 3) that you want them to see?

yes. It used to be that you could hide one of them (scorechoice) but no more.

What about if I took the same SAT II twice.. Would they see the lower of the two scores?

yup, they sure will.....

unless you took it when there was score chioce which i very highly doubt since the last time that was possible was June 2002...which is when i took my three SAT IIs and did well because I wasnt stressed since i could just hide them and retake them if i needed to. They should really bring that option back!
