I want to second (or third, or fourth?) the folks on here who have been advising you to visit both schools with your daughter. The schools are so, so different, that it seems unlikely that it won’t be clear to her which she prefers after visiting. The best thing to do is to attend the admitted students programs at both schools so that she gets an accurate picture of what student life is like. If she goes with wherever she really feels at home, she can’t go wrong! Good luck!

I trully appreciate your inputs, this healthy discuss will definitly benefits us and hopefully others as well. I have a bit update, my daughter just found that on the third page of acceptance letter, she was identified as one of ten Rabi Scholars from the entire applicants pool. It sounds an amazing program although I have to admit that I am new to it. Would greatly apprecaite if anyone has experience with Rabi Scholar Program or knows about it.

The Rabi Scholar Program I mentioned is from Columbia, sorry about mentioning that.

Wow. Awesome. The Rabi Program is very selective program that is for students who have solid foundation in scientific research and gives them the tools to further conduct research as undergraduates. As I recall, the faculty chooses these kids, and they are given full stipends to conduct research whenever they want, with whomever they want, even outside of Columbia. It is probably the most unique program within the Ivies and would let your daughter do what really excites her academically. Wow, congrats. You are a very lucky father. That is what I can remember, call the admissions office if you have questions about the program specifically. General questions I am more than happy to answer. I think we had a previous post about Rabi Scholars, and you can search and read more comments.

Yeah, you can argue that the Kluge/John Jay/Global/Davis Scholars program is comparable to what exists at other peer schools, but the Rabi Scholars is totally separate and is actually a HUGE deal. The perks you get as a Rabi scholar are really significant. Columbia really nurtures the students they see as having the highest potential.

It’s a wonderful beginning

^^ your daughter’s a Rabi scholar? that change EVERYTHING. go to columbia. Straight up.

Thanks again to everyone for your comments; I would like to provide another update. We just received a package from Dartmouth saying that my daughter qualifed for an endowed scholarship. We’re new to this program as well but are very excited. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
