My dream is to focus heavily on creating inventive robots in college.

Which one should I go for? Columbia SEAS or Duke Pratt?

I wonder which one I should count on more... time and effort taken(or wasted) in Core curriculum in SEAS or all the research and internship opportunites in NYC.

Which one would help me achieve my dream better?

hm... nice dream though
however, i think now is not the stage to achieve such a dream, a good time would be at graduate school. i believe the more crucial factor to determine which college is more suitable to you are:1) you social style (big school or small class), 2) personal strength (try to go to a school where you can be one of those top students, or ivies) 3) money (always a major consideration), 4) reputation in your majors (you can have a look about their research in that specific department that you want to go; or just simply see that where did those prof get their phd from) and 5) opportunity to conduct with research (that is a crucial one, it is always hard to determine whether you will be treaten as a ''student'' or as an ''individuals'', maybe you would like to talk to people who were in that department or just simply send an email to ask their office about ''hoping to learn more about that program beyond classroom''. in my case, i know a prof in that college i aim to so i have reliable information about that, and i assume that it very important to me because, like you, i really love researching)
