<p>Just out curiosity, does the spec pay it's staffers or no? I know of some other student papers independent of their university that pay staffers a very small wage, so I was just wondering. If I do end up writing for the Spec in the future, I obviouslydon't expect to get paid or for it to be a lucrative job, but I was just curious.</p>

<p>I’m about 99% sure they don’t pay staffers or writers or editors or anyone, though I wouldn’t really say people write for Spec for “free” since pretty much everyone I know who’s written for Spec has gotten some form of (media-related) internship, which I would assume writing for Spec played at least some role in helping them to get.</p>
