Columbia - Submit SAT/ACT?

Hi,

I have a question. On the site of Columbia University, they say that we can send our SAT/ACT scores through the common app, meaning we upload it to the testing section of the app. My question is, do I also need to send it to the college itself? or can I just put it into the Common App and that’s all? How would they know I’m not lying (I’m not planning on lying, no worries, but I’m just curious). Curious, because if I can save $25 I could send my scores to colleges which ask you to send it through CB. I took both, the ACT and SAT (if that helps).

  • Thank you!

Yes- you just put them on the Common App, and then send them officially if you are accepted. (So if your self-reported score doesn’t match with the official report, you risk being rescinded).

But college policies change- some colleges do want official score reports, so make sure you officially send to those! (But save your money with the self reports  )

Thank you so much!
