I'm betting the 12th as well. A couple of other colleges I've visited have said they like to do it on a Friday at 5-ish if they can to avoid a flood of angry phone calls to the admissions office right away!

If our courseload for next semester has changed from what we listed on the application, should we call in before decisions are made? A class I was going to take was cancelled due to low enrollment (Arabic II) and I switched it for another (Middle Eastern Politics). I also switched into an honors course for math. I don't think it will affect their decision but I also don't want to seem like a liar either.

Also if we plan on taking the December SAT, should we let the college know to expect more scores? I know they won't reach there by the time the decision is made but I wanted to take it again just in case I get denied or to use for outside scholarships.

are we supposed to send in our AP score reports? I don't know if my counselor included them in my secondary school report... :/

haha...that's smart of them, hpl.

your supposed to send them through an online website. ACT for (duhh) ACT's, and collegeboard.com for SAT's and AP's

im not sure if this is a dumb question or not but are u at a disadvantage if u just send ur ACT scores?

no, it's equivalent to the SAT.

16 days to the 15th kids!
oh and Questbridge applicants get their results on Monday!
that will be us soon :)! :(? haha

this waiting is killlllllllllllling me

join the club.

So my school doesn't have quarters - we have two semesters, each composed of three six week long grading periods. Grades don't go on to the transcript until the end of the semester. My counselor told me not to worry about the 1st quarter grades, and that the mid-year report would be sufficient. However, I'm still worried. Any thoughts?

When we get the emails telling us about the decision

does it tell us the ACTUAL decision? or does it just say when and if a decision has been reached?

Thanks

i want resultssssssssssssssssss

Jstnerade - it'll contain the actual decision.

Based on what happened last year, we will get a notification email the first week of Dec (around Dec 4-5) that says "heyyyy, we're done and shieet. decisions will be posted on dec xx." Last year decisions came out on I believe the 10th or 11th, even though the 15th was the official date. So we should know in about two weeks (or maybe a little less than that).

thanks!
I'm really nervous now.
Sometimes I think I'm reaching way too high haha
so the beef, i'm guessing you applied ED too?

my phone just dinged to say i got an email, and when i heard it, i KNEW it was from columbia. sure enough, i went to look in my inbox, and there was an email from columbia. result: minor freak-out, finally the date!!
then i read it and it was just financial aid stuff. damnn.

haha that's funny I almost checked my email.

I think the soonest they'd tell us is Monday.
When I visited the Office of Undergrad Admissions is only open Mon-Fri

so what major did you guys put down?

i put psych as my major. you? as a med school hopeful, i know biology would be best, but i like psychology better. i'm not too sure what to do about that at this point.

i'm starting to get verrry anxious about decisions ahh.

we can't do anything at this point :|

i'm confused about the difference between a major and a concentration in the bulletin...=

i got that financial aid email too, and yet when i go to check if they have any of my documents, nothing has changed. i dont see anywhere where it says either yes or no.

anyone else see the same thing?
