Columbia University '13 EARLY DECISION

I bought a Columbia sweatshirt when I visited for the first time two years ago, and wore it to every single one of my SAT and ACTs. And I think a few of my APs as well. It must have been magic because I did well! :)

I agree that this forum is addictive. Specifically this thread. I check it at least four times each day. I need some serious help. I remember when I first saw threads from last year, I couldn't believe how obsessed they were. Now I can't believe how little they posted in comparison to us.

And if I get rejected, my obsession will only continue with the forums of my other school choices.

It's a weird thought to think that everyone in this thread is Class of 2009. I view everybody as older for some reason...

It's just because we are ever so mature. Afterall, we're considering going to Columbia, we're the newest members of the USA intelligentsia.

For the love of God
they need to release the date.

yeah seriously ... !!!!!!! this is driving me crazy. I talk abotu columbia decision so much that my mom told me to shut up

And ditto that.

I mainly need to hear the decision so that I can get on with my life.

If I get rejected, then, well, fine, I can begin to work on my RD apps in earnest.

If I get accepted, then yay, I can relax.

If I get deferred.. well, ****.

woo girl power!!

to me deferral = rejection, so if i don't get in now i'm definitely flushing out all dreams of Columbia.. oh man, im depressed.

well said

here's a fun fact:

Dartmouth, MIT, Stanford, and Yale all received over 10 percent more early applicants this year. UChicago received 15% fewer. Northwestern received 15% more.

Duke 25% more.

Everyone I finally called Columbia and the guy said that the decision release date is Decemeber 15th.

ugh i'm starting to feel like they're not going to tell us beforehand when they're releasing the decisions. but i don't want to just open my email one day and have it be there!!!

I actually rather not know when decisions are coming out, since I know the night/ hours leading up to it, I would be flipping OUT.

YEAH,
I just found this blog searching random Columbia stuff at school. I like that everyone has the same worries as me. Anyway, I just have to put it out there. I am sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo NERVOUS!!!! I am not really the best qualified so i dont think I have a shot. but who knows right? Well best of luck to everyone! BTW, do we get decision right on the 15th? or do we have to wait or are they earlier?

ughhhhh... Penn is finding out on the 12th at 3 PM.

SO JEALOUS >___________<;;

i hope he was lying. i really want to know next friday...

i think thats just what they say until they have a definate date but really itll probably come out around the 12th or so... it came out before the 15th the last 4 years or so... they should be emailing us the day it comes out some time this week

entr0py, did you call today? Someone called yesterday and got "before the 15th". Gah, I wonder if no one really knows yet...I mean we should get an email when Columbia figures out when they're posting decisions, right? :/ I WANT TO FIND OUT ALREADY! OR AT LEAST FIND OUT WHEN I'M GONNA FIND OUT!!!

And calculus for engineering is not easy, because our teacher just throws half-assed proofs at us, doesn't explain the applications, then sometimes tests on applications and sometimes doesn't.

isnt it weird that there are more posts on columbia ed 2013 even though the decisions have yet to come out than there are in the whole 2012 columbia ed thread... i guess its just a show of how tough the competition is this year.... best of luck to everyone!!!!
